Bonsai Techniques - #4
From pruning, proceed by learning how to transfer your bonsai from one pot to another with the use of a more quality soil. This bonsai technique is a bit harder to take, especially for the amateurs, but once it is started in the right way, everything will be handled easily. The most important thing one should note about repotting is that bonsai of all types should be repotted at least twice a year for it to grow more beautiful and healthier. However, when repotting, make sure that the soil you’re using for the new pot is of greater quality than the original soil. Don’t take soil from your garden, but rather take a special one from an area that sells it. After all, this technique will only work best if done this way. In repotting, the idea of root pruning is so typical. It is often incorporated into the task since it prevents the plant from becoming pot-bound. This special alternative will also encourage new feeder roots to grow, then making your bonsai more capable of absorbing moisture. |
